High Heel Hangover?

If you only wear high heels for a special night out, then you know that sometime during the night your feet will be screaming to be let out. You don’t dare take your shoes off (even though it’s what you most want to do) because you know your protesting feet will never go back into those torture chambers once they’re set free. By this time, though, it’s too late. The hangover has begun in the form of blisters, burning on the ball of the foot, achy toes, sore lower legs, calf cramps, and back pain.

After a night of torture, it’s only right that you help your feet recover with some foot TLC (below). The skin may still feel sensitive, but your muscles should feel better.

  • Lavender oil: Lavender has analgesic (pain relief) and anti-inflammatory properties. It can also help cure blisters.

  • Calf Stretches (heel drop on stairs, runner’s lunge, etc.)

  • Toe Stretches: Using hand, lace left fingers between right toes and vice versa, or put toe spacers between toes

  • Using a tennis or golf ball, roll foot over ball.

  • If you have a foot roller, this is a good time to use it!
